I have over the years taken on a number of challenging projects that involved slopes. This landscape design project in Marple Bridge, Cheshire, in the North West UK was no exception The pictures at the start of the gallery, taken during my first visit, give a good indication as to the challenges faced. This one was pretty unique, sitting as it did in what is effectively its own secluded private valley running down to meet the river Goyt at its end. The clients house a picture of modest modernity sitting comfortably within the plot meant it required something special to really work in harmony with the location, whilst creating a wow factor to set the house off. Gabion steps taking you on a journey down beneath a canopy of trees ferns to a bottom path affording stunning views back up through rolling planting to newly installed steps leading from the top balcony down into the garden.
