Garden Design Service Overview

Over the past 20-plus years, we’ve honed and adapted the way we work. To get a better understanding of how we produce our award-winning gardens, here’s an overview to take you through each step of our garden design process.

Stage 1: Initial Visit & Consultation

Due to the large number of requests for visits, a small fee may be charged for this service dependent on your requirements and location. Don’t worry if you do not have any ideas for your new garden, we will provide a full design – photographs of the plot or existing garden will be taken to support this process.

Stage 2: Topographic Plan & Survey

Topographic plans will be obtained for the plot. Alternatively, a full site survey will be undertaken if said plans are not available. The survey will be carried out by David or a professional surveyor, dependent upon the size and complexity of the garden.

Stage 3: Second Consultation

Once the site survey is complete, a second consultation will be arranged for which we will prepare moodbooks, the purpose of which is to illustrate initial ideas for planting along with design and material suggestions for hard landscaping. This meeting serves as an opportunity for you and I to discuss the project and begin preparation of preliminary design plans.

Stage 4: Third Client Meeting

At the third meeting, we will present preliminary plans and discuss any potential changes or modifications that will be implemented in the creation of final designs. After this meeting, dependent on the scale of the project, we will begin preparing three-dimensional illustrations of how the garden will look for the next stage.

Final Stage: Design Consultation

Illustrations; fully dimensioned plans showing hard landscaping, materials to be used, full technical specification; and planting plans will be provided at the final meeting. Upon completion of this stage, we will assist you in obtaining a quote for the implementation of the designs from recommended contractors we have worked with on previous projects, or one of your own choosing.
