A coastal landscape design project on the North Welsh Coast. The property and garden sits atop the cliffs overlooking Conwy Bay. The first few pictures after the porthole picture show the gardens as viewed during my first visit. Before the redesign the garden did not take full advantage of views out across the bays and to the Great Orme and Conwy Castle. My vision in designing the new gardens was to remove the boundary hedge and design a floating cantilevered platform taking full advantage of the stunning seascape. I also wanted a connecting set of steps that, as you walked down, gave you the impression that you could continue all the way down to the beach below. I also designed a full glass wall to the seaward side of the hot tub enclosure allowing stunning sheltered views across the bay whilst relaxing. Egg cup swing seats suspended from a Cor-ten frame afford views to Conwy Castle across the bay. 5 years on these pictures show the plants maturing as the gardens relax into the setting.
