Design visuals for this new project in Prestwich in Greater Manchester include a natural swimming pool. It will also include a garden room designed with a large central sliding door that looks directly onto the pool and a diving platform. The surrounding boardwalk is designed to cantilever over the natural swimming pool creating a seamless and infinite connection to the waters surface. A glass balustrade provides a protective barrier without impeding views to the pool from the deck. As this is a natural swimming pool its sides spill off into lushly aquatic planning drifts adding not only colour and contrast but also helping to keep the waters crystal clear too. All this set among lush planting of perennial colour and overlooked by a pergola covered lounging terrace next to the house. Off to one side of the garden room boardwalk will be an outdoor shower whilst the part leading to the opposite side a focal point purpose built oak swing seat will be set amidst sculptured Corten panels in the minimalist garden. In the minimalist garden I’ve designed areas of sweeping curved pathways through multi stem Acers all underplanted with dome pruned pines. This area also incorporates a contemporary pool with steppingstones adjacent to a dining terrace. The minimalist garden is screened from the pool garden with a 2-meter Yew hedge reinforcing the distinct aesthetic of both areas. Around the gardens perimeters pathways set amidst planting of ferns, tree ferns, and large palm trees will be highlighted by gently oversized candle lanterns creating a magical night time ambience. With the build and instillation of the project to begin in April of 2022 watch this space for updates on what is sure to be a magical series of gardens.
