The before pictures show a garden that was installed about five years ago but just wasn't working for the clients. I was given carte blanche to re-design the gardens to make better use of the entire space and create year round interest. A series of changes in level create a greater sense of journey around the space but also allowed me to design in secret pocket areas to the garden with planting chosen to match the aspect. A dramatic water feature is located to create a stunning visual focal point that works whether viewed from inside the house or in the garden itself. My aim in designing this space was to not only create a sense of journey but also to include elements of surprise that are only revealed as you walk through the garden areas.
