Garden designs for a small back garden in Greater Manchester. If proof was ever needed that small and suburban does not have to equal boring then this garden hits the nail. It also demonstrates how good design can transform a dull and unloved space into an exciting and enticing space. I designed this garden for a recently retired couple who wanted to be able to sit out and enjoy the garden without much maintenance. A gabion and galvanised steel structure is faced with riven pieces of Welsh slate  housing a water fall adding soothing sounds to the garden. A climbing frame inbuilt into the structure and smothered in Honeysuckle  fills the garden with scent.  If you want a low maintenance space top tip lose the lawn!
